I remember seeing you

That warmth you gave off

seemed it would of been a great day

I remember falling apart in that moment

while I held back the rain.

I remember joy leaving my body,

while I met pain

and how for the first time

I looked in your eyes and didn't see anything.

I remember how I fought

while you stood so still

and within that moment

how I contemplate if I meant a thing.

I remember your words

how they cut so deep

and how they held me

hostage away from sleep.

I remember being weak for weeks,

forgetting to eat

and how the future looked

oh so bleak.

I remember dying

not literally but literally

And if only I remember

It would be fine

But I also feel this moment

Time after time.
